Self-diagnosis

I think I have MRSA. I am freaking myself out. I have called for an appointment, but I know it is what it is. I should probably just go to the hospital.

Unrelated, but my obsessive compulsive thoughts have pretty much stopped cold all of the sudden.

I fear they have been replaced by being a hypocondriac. But then I don't fear that because then it would mean I could logically have MRSA.

Re: Self-diagnosis

  • Eeek.

My stepson had MRSA.  He went to the ER the day before Ian's 1st birthday party, and told us he had an infection in his knee.  He came to the party, showed everyone his knee, and the next day told us it was MRSA.  I was pissed.

But enough about me.  Sorry about your (maybe) MRSA.

  • You can't have Minnesota Street Rod Association.  You live in Texas!

  • My MRSA is in my nose. I promise not to have you touch it.
  • Oh no! How do you know it is MRSA? The only time I knew anyone with it was a few guys my freshman year of college.

    The internet told me.

  • I bet it's just ADD.

What exactly are the symptoms? It can be a cyst/abscess and not be MRSA.

  • I keep getting sores in my left nostril. I thought it was a pimple first, but I keep getting them over and over.

But now I am getting sores (I think but it is hard to see) on my left tonsil.

I keep getting them too. I have one in my left nostril right now. :( How do you know the difference between a zit and a sore? I just figure mine are zits, lol.

Is this like when we had ear herpes at the same time, too?

I thought it was zits too until I googled. And even then I blew it off. But now with the throat thing, I am freaking out. And I was just in a hospital. I am going to an ENT tomorrow. I will let you know your prognosis afterward. We may have to remove our noses.

I will have to explore this similarity with Mr. Winged.

  • Hrm. I had a camera up my nose 2 weeks ago and while she said my tonsils and adenoids were large, she said nothing about them being teeming with disease.

Though I didn't have this MRSA-filled  cyst at the time.

  • I need a nose camera. It is impossible to self-diagnose without seeing. I can only feel them.
  • Am I the only one that didn't know WTF MRSA was?  I couldn't google it from my phone (well, I could, but it would have required way more effort than I was willing to put forth) and it was driving me batty.

Why couldn't you just use the lay term, which I DO know, and save me all the headache?!  It's all about meeeee!

  • I'm sorry you think you might have MRSA, I'm sure it will end up being something way less scary, like booger-under-the-skin.

On the bright side, now that you're obsessive thoughts are gone, the floor will no longer be lava, and stepping on cracks will no longer cause people to die, hence making seeking medical treatment a much more efficient task than previously.
