First-Year-of-Marriage-Holiday-Jackpot!

This is DH and I's first holiday season as a married couple.  Both our families live in the same city and I've been stressing about what our plans would be for the holidays.  My side of the fam has big get-togethers and lots of homemade food on the holidays and it's always lots of fun.  DH's side sometimes goes to visit his grandparents, sometimes stays home, and always purchases pre-made holiday food...not near as fun, but they're my family now, so we have to spend some holiday time with them...even if MIL drives me crazy.  BUT, we just found out that MIL and FIL will be out of the country for their anniversary during Thanksgiving and they will be out of the state visiting SIL during Christmas!!!  We get to spend both holidays with my fam and no one's feelings get hurt in the process!!  I would feel guilty about being so excited about this, but DH is excited about it too.

Yeah, I know the feeling, both our families are in the same town so we don't have too many travel plans.  Just if we go to see his extended family and they are only a little under two hours away, so not too bad.  Glad it all worked it for you!

Enjoy it!  Will you still be visiting DH's grandparents for the holidays?  Dont leave them out.
