DH is deploying to Afghanistan next February for a year
This is his second deployment but first since being with me. We talked about if for months because he wasn't forced to; it was his/our choice (his contract was supposed to end in February).
At least he is in a communications section and not Infantry or MP.
Re: It's official...
Oh wow, that's a big decision. I didn't even realize your DH was military.
I hope this doesn't come across as trite, but thank you both for your sacrifices. Seriously.
I think this means we need to do more GTGs
Laina, I just saw this on Facebook and I immediately ached a little inside for you both! I imagine it is a mixed bag of very complex and powerful emotions for you right now.
I'm right with Rock--thank you both for the sacrifices you are making as a family for our country.
And hellz to the yeah, someone get this girl a cocktail! I see GTGs and maybe some running dates in the future for you.
Love to you both!
Lots of back and forth, but he's actually kind of excited about it. Obviously not being together for a year will be wicked tough, but he's excited that he's going to be with his buddies and at the prospect of all the money we'll be saving and, hopefully, use to buy a house or land to build when he gets back.
Thanks missus! I hope that we can get some running dates in as well. My parents and I are planning to run the Shape Up RI Half Marathon in May in Providence. Maybe? Maybe?
haha
I'm up to 7 miles already! We are gunning for a half next fall, but if I really dug my heels in I bet I could train for one by May. Let's talk. :-)
