Our cat Shadow didn't come home last night like he usually does (heck, he usually greets me as I come home) and by the time we had to go to sleep DH and I were both exhausted, our minds racing. He's charcoal gray, so not easy to find at night.
This morning DH found him in one of the remote areas of our garden. Not sure if it was old age or a snake bite that caused his death. We buried him in a sunny part of the garden, where he had views of our house and all the rest of the homes where he liked to "patrol" during the day.
I've been crying like a little girl for most of the morning . Tonight we'll have pork chops for dinner--Shadow's favorite. Hopefully God will give him all the pork chops he wants and he won't have to steal them. I'll miss my 2am wake up calls, then my 4:30am wake up calls, but then he gave us a LOT of great memories in just 4.5 years.
Have a peaceful rest, my little lion.
Re: Not so good of a morning
That's so sad. I'm sorry for your loss.
Im so terribly sorry for your loss! I know our pets are more like our children and they bring so much joy to our lives. I'm sure he'll have all the pork chops in the world along with cat nip (gotta have the greens!)
Best wishes!
