Book club chicas

I'm so glad there was so much interest in a book club!  I'm thrilled because honestly I love to read and love to hang out with fun ladies!!

The club's rules will be really loose!  The books will be easy and fun reads and if you don't finish... so what!!  It's still fun to try and then hang out for dinner/drinks or coffee!!  :)  So please don't count yourself out if you're thinking you may not always be able to finish!

I'll pick the first book for reading during the month of December and then we can pick a date early in January to meet up to discuss the book... for about ten minutes and then gossip about celebrities or our husbands!!

If it's OK with the facebook ladies, I'll post a discussion thread on that page too with the book towards the end of November.  :)

  • This may be a silly question but.....do you have to buy the book each time or is there another way to do it?

We could probably check them out at the local libray I would think so that way we don't have to buy all the books unless you want to =)

  • yay!  I'm excited to see what you pick!

Ladies - you can try libraries, or paperbackswap.com if you don't want to have to buy the book each time.  If we get to the point where we plan the reads a month or two out, it would be really easy to try and locate via paperbackswap.com if your local library doesn't carry it.  Also, the phoenix library has a digital library for downloads where you can downloads books and audios to your computer.  Worth checking out to save money!

  • I am  HUGE fan of paperbackswap.com.  If you haven't checked it out, please do.  Also the library is a wonderful resource if you don't want to have to check the book out.

The other resource is Amazon.com.  You can, very often, find books for a penny on there.

If it will make it easier, I'll pick the book in the next week or so and I'll check paperback swap to see if I can find something that has a lot of availability.  The other thing is, I read REALLY fast so I can share a book with someone and grab it right before the book club and read it in a night or two.

     We'll make it work!!  :)

  • I'm in a book club and I love it! How often do you plan on meeting?
  • Hopefully we'll meet monthly if that will work for everyone.  We'll have to figure out when the best time will be as well as where!
  • I'm in for this too!!!
