Hi everyone... random fashion question for you!
Have you ever seen a coat with patches on the elbows that you thought looked good? I feel like I have but I can't find any photos.
I have a coat that I love. It's fitted, stylized version of a peacoat and the elbows are showing wear. I really don't want to get rid of it -- that is not an option because it is just too great otherwise. Re-doing the whole sleeves will be tough because my time for sewing play time is limited and I don't think I can afford to pay someone to do it. So I'm trying to picture it with patches let me know what you think!
Re: Coat with patches?
You could also do something patterened like this that goes all the way down:
Oh, that's an idea -- then it looks more intentional rather than, hey everyone! I wore through my elbows!
Cippola -- I'll try to get a photo up so you can give great ideas.
It's teacher recital weekend at the dance studio so I'll be gone tonight and all day tomorrow -- hopefully soon though cuz it's getting cold and I want to wear my coat!

I was definitely thinking that might help. The buttons currently match the coat (black and black) but I was thinking maybe I could do plaid with matching covered buttons or something along those lines.
