Since the holidays are right around the corner, I've been wondering if you girls have a theme for your Christmas tree, and if you do what is it?
[Poll]
Two souls but a single thought; Two hearts that beat as one

Re: Christmas Poll!
We don't do a theme. We also have just a variety of different ornaments. Some that are ours from living at home with our parents and new ones we have started collecting since our first Christmas together.
I really wish we had a huge house to where we can have a fake tree with no theme, just random stuff. And then have a real tree with a certain theme or color.
This. I have posted before about how we always get a Christmas ornament every year that has to do with a special or significant event that happened that year, so our Christmas tree is literally a tree of amazing memories. I get emotional just thinking about it.
I am not sure if we'll get to have a tree this year. We will be visiting Dave's family from the 23-31 of Dec, so we won't be in our own place for Christmas. I'm not sure it's worth it to put up our Christmas tree since we won't be here for Christmas, but I WILL get to enjoy it for a week or two beforehand, so I'm still debating whether to do it.
We do a hodgepodge tree- I think a themed tree would be expensive!
Greg and I get each other an ornament every year a a gift (last year was a *** in a box) and this year his mom is giving us all the ornaments he got as a kid! I'm excited!
Our tree has colored lights, and a mix of ornaments that I mostly brought from my mom's house. The first year Adam and I had a Christmas tree, my mom had me come over and pick out which ornaments I wanted (baby's first Christmas, disney ornaments, hand made ornaments, etc). I love trees that have "personality." We got one from all the different places we've been as a couple. Most disapointing was the sanddollar ornament we brought back from our honeymoon in St. Thomas broke.
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.
If you were in my shoes, you'd fall the first step."
I said "yes" because that seems to describe our current situation. We each had a 3-foot tree before we got married, and we've decided that we're probably just going to use those until kids come along.
My tree is actually fiber-optic (not as tacky as it sounds; it looks like a regular green tree until you turn the lights on, so it just looks fancy-lit). I used all gold ornaments on it with a few red accents.
Matt's is pre-strung with regular white tree lights, and his ornaments were all red and gold. You kind of end up with a theme when you buy one pack for your lil' old tree, haha.
When we have a for-real tree someday, I want to use all sorts of random ornaments.
Growing up we always had a hodge podge tree. every year my brother and I would get to pick out a new ornament from Hallmark. Mom still has all of them but she does themed trees now. We also always had real trees growing up until our last 2 or 3 Christmas' at home. I've had the same artificial tree for 5 years and it's beginning to look a little worse for wear. But it's 7.5 feet tall and really fat. All the trees I see in stores now a days are super skinny and I don't like them.
I do theme trees and I keep the same tree for 3 or so years and then change it up (that way its not TOO expensive). I just changed it up last year. It's currently light golds, pewter, copper, mercury glass. Very vintage looking. I usually get all of my tree deco from Target. I did already buy new stocking holders this year. They are the twig reindeer one's from Pottery Barn.
One of our best friends (Kevin's BM) works for PB and so we get 40% off through him! =D I also have a bunch of PB lanterns left over from the wedding and I think I'm going to incorporate some into the Christmas Decor this year.
We should all post pictures of our Christmas decorations!!!!! We don't put ours up until after Thanksgiving though.
Oh and WHITE LIGHTS! Inside, outside and on the tree.
We both lived with our parents and just went along with their trees until this year. We bought our own tree last year after Christmas and I had bought some mixed blue & silver ornaments to decorate a couple years ago on sale. We'll be sticking to the blue/silver them this year, even though I wanted to go with blue/green.
Once we start having children and they make ornaments, our tree will become a hodge podge tree like my parents'.
You need a special snowflake JEEZE!!!!
