Holiday cards

How do you display the holiday cards that you receive?  Do you have some special contraption that you use?

FWIW, we don't have a mantle, so that option is out.

Re: Holiday cards

  • We string a ribbon on either side of an archway we have from our entry way to our living room, and we clip (mini binder clips) each card to it.

  • This is what I do,

  • This is what we started doing last year. The only thing interesting here is that I covered clothespins with plaid scrap paper so they are more festive.

I like this idea with the clothespins, but on the wall like Juliana, especially since I have a lot of bare hallway walls..  I think I even have a bag full of clothespins laying around somewhere.  Hmmmm, wonder where they are.  How'd you attach the paper?  Hot glue?  Regular glue?  Super glue?  Spit?  Haha!

  • The last couple of years I've just displayed them all on a table in the living room or foyer. This year, though, I'm wanting to do something more like the photos here. Kind of like you said, the ribbons & clothes pins on the way... I think it would look cute in the hallway :)

  • Last year they were in a red basket. Holiday cards were not a priority with a 4 week old. This year I am looking for a cute idea as well. We don't have a fireplace/mantel for me to display them on and I need to keep them high enough so Xander doesn't destroy them.

  • I like the ribbon & clip idea.  I always just taped them to the closet door.  You guys are so creative!

You pretty much take scrapbook paper (fabric and wrapping paper work too) and you put rubber cement on the clothespin. Lay it on the paper. Let it dry and then cut around it. Just a tip on your paper choice, you will not see much of a pattern if you get one so it is best to go with a small scale pattern.

  • Last year I used a thin ribbon and draped it from one side of my garland to another. I also like the idea of double sided tape on a pretty ribbon hanging over each side of various doors.
