I posted a while ago about menu inspiration, and I rec'd awesome suggestions. I noticed that everyone else isn't afraid to serve almost "too much" food, as there appear to be MANY options on everyone's menus.
:-) I'm going to do courses too I think, just as many of you are, so thanks for all that help from before!
Now, I beseech you for ideas for appetizers that aren't too heavy. I found a yummy looking recipe for a cheesey spinach spread, but that feels like we're bound for a food coma before anyone even looks at the turkey. http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Hot-Spinach-Red-Pepper-Dip/Detail.aspx
I like this recipe; I've done it, it's easy, and delicious and not too filling. http://www.food.com/recipe/cranberry-feta-pinwheels-16213
Winter Fruit Salad w/ Lemon Poppy seed dressing
Butternut Squash soup w/ pear
Buttermilk Mashed taters w/ veg gravy
Vegetarian Stuffing w/ wheat bread
Turkey (for the carnivores) perhaps with some kind of spicy/sweet glaze
TBD: **Insert some vegetarian entree here...like a stuffed mushroom, or something...***
**Insert vegetable side here**
Pumpkin Roll
Apple Pie w/homemade ice cream
TIA!!! :-)

My menu is similar to yours. For apps, I'm doing:
Pecan halves sandwiched with a pumpkin-cream cheese layer and rolled in brown sugar, cinnamon and chili powder
Pistachio-filled dates
Pancetta crisps with goat cheese and pear
Mini Cheddar dill scones
