looking to replace a Swiffer with.... ?

My Swiffer Wet Jet died after many years of good use.  (I also used the Swiffer duster). 

 I am looking to replace it now with something a little more eco-friendly.  Any suggestions?

Anyone have the Shark Vac-then-Steam?  Kinda intrigued, but looking for some reviews.

I don't have the vac-then-steam that you speak of, but I have the steam mop and I am a total convert.  Its amazing, and so easy to use.

Agreed.  I love mine so much I bought the Shark handheld one and I use it constantly. 

I don't have this exact thing, but it's basically like a swiffer with hard prickly (not as pliable as Velcro) things on the head.  I have some microfiber things that stick to it. http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=16319155&RN=1017&  I think it was like $20.  Ignore all the chemicals and crap, I don't use those.  I use this like a dry swiffer, then use the Shark steam mop.

I have the shark steam mop and LOVE it... I can't imagine cleaning without it now!

I have the Wet Jet, but I just saw a commercial for a Libbman mop that is similar. Only you don't have to buy the refill containers. You can put whatever solution in it that you want. I like the idea of that. It's less waste from the containers.  I haven't seen it in stores yet though.

For quick jobs, I use a Rubbermaid Reveal that I bought for about $20.  You mix your own solution (I use part Lysol, part water for vinyl floors), put it in, spray it on the floor, and wipe with the cloth pad.  You can throw the pad in the washing machine and reuse it- definitely eco-friendly.
