My fave Major League Soccer team, FC Dallas, beat LA Galaxy (and Beckham and Donovan) last night 3-0 and is headed to Toronto for the MLS Cup!
FC Dallas.... the Dallas football team that doesn't suck.
Sorry Cowboys fans, I had to do it.
Re: I believe in FCD!!!
I love soccer but I struggle to follow MLS. I do not feel really attached to any one team. I did go to a couple DC United games when I lived in the area and consider them my team, but I only sort of follow it.
I try to catch the game of the week, but it is often on too late.
So at this point, I will say I am just hoping for a good game.
CP, I would have agreed with you a year ago. My DH and I followed players we liked, such as Pat Noonan, Ned Grabavoy, and Danny O'Rourke, because we saw them play at Indiana University when we lived in IN. I didn't have a team I would say was "mine" until I moved to Dallas and actively attended games and met some of the players. So the timing's really nice.
Cummings and Casey are going to give us problems (and we're missing one of our defensive starters, Heath Pearce, due to injury), so they are two to watch on Colorado.
As for FC Dallas, Kevin Hartman is going to make some amazing saves for us as usual and be our "quarterback," organizing the defense. Brek Shea, the tall blond kid in the midfield, is one to watch - very dynamic if he doesn't let his temper get the best of him. Daniel Hernandez will be our enforcer (and captain) in the midfield, trying to connect with potential MLS MVP, David Ferreira.
Can you tell I'm excited for this game?
