Christmas Party

I told my boss from my pt job that I would help her plan a Christmas party. Yes, we are getting to this rather late, I know. The company is small; we are talking about probably 65-70 people including a guest for everyone. We want cheap without looking/being cheap (like most people). Right now I'm trying to figure out where to have it. I just need a few ideas. I don't really have a budget or any details. I guess at this point, that is what I'm trying the help her with. What's out there and how much is it going to cost.

I know this kind of things comes up on here a lot, so I thank you in advance for your help.

Any idea's you've got, throw them at me.  GO....

ETA: This is a service based business where most of the employee's are not in the office, they are out in trucks doing service calls, so the office isn't big enough to hold the party there.

Also, we'd like something on the East side of town. Maplewood, Woodbury, Lake Elmo, Oakdale, etc...

Re: Christmas Party

  • My department is really small (20 of us at most). Last year my Boss invited us all over to her home, her Husband cooked (he loves to cook!) a whole bunch of appetizers for us and we just chatted and hung out.

I had to leave early, so I don't know if they ended up playing games or not.

That's the only Holiday party I've ever been to. My other places of employment never did anything.

  • My office is a bit larger than yours but they generally cater a party around the holidays.  Spouses and kiddos are invited but not all that many end up attending.  I work for a non-profit so they don't spend a crazy amount and they host it here at our offices.  It is amazing what a few rented linens and festive decorations can do to an otherwise dull auditorium!  Not sure who they end up using for the food but it has been good for the 2 holiday seasons I've been at the company!
