First of all - love that invite!
You can put a twist on the "contest" and give out superlative-type awards... most nostalgic, most scary, most colorful, most creative.
As far as activities, you can set up a little "photo booth" type area where maybe people can take shots with a fake Santa statue.

Love the photo idea and the idea from the other post that mentioned decorating your house with tons of tacky stuff. LOL.
Maybe a "pin the reindeer on the sweater" contest? Just like pin the tail on the donkey, but instead have people try to stick random holiday stuff to a sweater. Like reindeer, bells, trees, etc.
For drinks, just find a recipe for a good sounding drink, and give it a new name that goes with the theme, like "Wooly Reindeer"
You could always come up with a drinking game for a traditional holiday movie. I did a drinking game to the cartoon version of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." You had to drink every time they said "Who", along with a few other rules.

So ironic, we do an annual "White Elephant Gift Exchange/Ugly Sweater Party" every year too! Haha...I'm hosting it this year, woohoo!! We're going to do dinner and everything here too, I'm pretty excited. I've never hosted it before though so I'm a little nervous but I love entertaining so it'll be all good. I'm going with an Italian theme with the food and drinks and we'll just do our regular ol gift exchange then vote on who wins the ugly sweater contest, give out a pin and gag gift for that and be done. All the while taking pictures throughout the night, oh hells yeah! LOL
