Christmas/Holiday Card Ideas Needed
This is my first year to send out holiday cards. I know I want to do a picture card. My family did them every year and it's so fun to look back at them. We're both in fashion so we can totally handle what to wear, I'm just not sure what kind of photo we should take. Should we have them professionally done? Should it look Christmas-y? I live in LA, so it won't look as Christmas-y as some if we do outdoors.
Any thoughts and opinions are appreciated! TIA!
Re: Christmas/Holiday Card Ideas Needed
In the past we've taken a photo of us in front of the Christmas tree. I think we attempted to get the pets into one with us, but that didn't work. We've done that photo along with a photo of the dogs with Santa (you can get those done at petsmart).
I think this year we're getting this adorable card from Shutterfly - it's like 10-12(ish) small photos that are stacked to look like a Christmas tree. I think it would be fun to put in a bunch of pictures from the year (spring family camping trip, the wedding, honeymoon, puppy's halloween pictures, etc).
I'm probably in the minority, but I hate photo cards unless there is a child involved (or a pet if its doing something really cute). It just feels AWish to me; but of course it's better than nothing. When I do recieve them I tend to prefer the ones that are Christmasy. Unless they have kids they usually get stuck in the back of the display.
Maybe find a location in town with a nice holiday display. Or go cheesy and pose with the mall Santa. Or paly up the non-christmasy weather and take a pic on the beach or a sunny park.
look back through your 2010 photos and you might already have something great! last year i did a photo of DH and I when we were repelling on our trip to Mexico. i think an activity or vacation is fun ... especialy for young couples who aren't sending out a baby photo card.
a coworker of mine is meeting us at a park this weekend to take some candid shots with our dog. i'm hoping to get one for my card.
