tell me about swagbucks...

strength

it's blocked at my work for some reason. what is it? the post about book recommendations mentioned that a couple of you use swagbucks to get books. how does that work?

I LOVE swagbucks, it's basically a search engine you use to get bucks and then you can trade in your bucks for things... such as an amazon giftcard.

I use it instead of google and get about 2 $5 Amazon giftcards a month.

Eh, I tried it and really didn't get the hype. My main annoyance about it is that it doesn't turn up the same results as google. If I go search the same word/phrase in google, I get completely different results. So, often times, if I am researching information for school, I have to use both Swagbucks and Google and that is annoying.

I love swagbucks.  I search a couple times a day and earn points which I turn in for Amazon giftcards.  I just ordered Christmas presents last night and redeemed $100 of free Amazon giftcards.  Totally worth my 2 minutes a day. 

I don't use swagbucks for a real search engine.  I only go on the site to search & win swagbucks.  Once I win some points, I go back to Google.

It's just a search engine just like Google, so you can search for anything.  I believe it's all random.  If you go on Facebook and look at the Swag Bucks page, people list different phrases and the amount they win.  My SIL claims to have won at searching on some of those phrases, but it never worked for me.

I usually win after 2 - 3 search first thing in the morning, then midday, then at night.  However, sometimes you can search 10+ searches and don't win anything.  If I don't win after 6 searches, I give up and wait a while then try again. 

I've probably won the most times for searching swagbucks to return to the homepage.  I've also won for the nest.

I don't google too much, but I use it to search facebook, the nest, hotmail etc and don't use the bookmark. Like the pp said I normally get bucks am, mid-day and evening. I also get 3 points a day for the poll, survey and using the toolbar.

I do the same thing, I search for the sites I want to use, and use the toolbar. I love it. I've gotten a bajillion BN gift cards which I use for my Nookbooks. It's fantastic.
