ETA-- Here's a short version of the birth story: I got my membranes stripped on Tuesday and was dilated to a 3, but had hardly any contractions after that.  Thursday night I ate a really spicy dinner, did a lot of walking and bounced on the exercise ball.  At 4 am Friday I had some discharge- not enough to think it was my water, just enough that my underwear got a little wet.  This happened 3 more times until I finally called the Dr. at 8 am.  They said to head to L&D.  Sure enough, it was my water!  I was still at a 3, no contractions, so they gave me pitocine.  Around 2:30 pm the contractions were getting painful and when they offered at Epi, I accepted.  I was still only a 4.  When they checked me at 6:30 I was a 9.5, but couldn't feel a single contractions!  At 7:30 the nurse said I was ready to push, by 8:46 he was here!!!  To be honest, it was so much easier and quicker that I expected (thanks to the Epi!).  We both had a fever, but no infection and I tore slightly, but it's not too bad.
