Let's talk Black Friday

Who's going?

Where do you prefer to shop?

Do you plan it out ahead of time or just wing it?

What time do you start?

  • I am! It's tradition that a friend of mine and I have.

We are going to the outlet malls in our area, then onto Target, Best Buy, Bed Bath and Beyond.

My friend is crazy...she finds all of the leaked ads and has our trip mapped out, with food stops and bathroom breaks included in the plan.

The outlets start at 12, so we do that. Then we will head onto the other stores and usually go until about 8 or nine. It's intense!

  • Christmas is going to be very small for us this year due to finances, so no need to go. I would only consider going if there was big item we wanted on sale.
  • I've never gone before but this year due to finances it's necessary but only for the kids. So I will be hitting TRU around 10pm Thurs, and maybe Target later on
  • I went last year but that is only because my cousin got in line at Best Buy on Wednesday afternoon and was first in line.  I got in line with her at about midnight on Thanksgiving.  I ended up getting 2 laptops for $400.  This year I am going to go to Target.  They have a tv we want for 240 something.  So I will probably go as soon as we are done with dinner and stuff.  Hopefully we get lucky and are able to get it.  I also need to get some video games for my stepkids.
  • We don't normally do black Friday shopping. It's probably been 6 years since the last time I did. Normally we go and get our tree and I cook a mini Thanksgiving dinner.

  • I don't have any plans to go at this point, but it could change.  I think I'll be doing donations for most of my gifting and I'll be putting together some cute gift packages with items from my biz that I know people are wanting.

I used to try to go, but I've decided my time is worth more than most of the savings.  I don't get to see my family often, so to spend most of it camped out in front of a store just doesn't make sense for me.  Of course, I haven't started looking for the ads yet either.  I do need a new laptop, but don't know about this sleeping out in the cold thing for one.  Not sure the savings are really worth my time and comfort, lol.
