This is petty in comparison to some of the other issues today, but I have a painful lump in my right breast that I assume is a clogged duct. I've tried warm compresses, massaging, pumping, nursing, etc for two days, and it won't go away. I feel like at this point I'm just sitting around waiting for mastitis to set in. I don't want to go through that again, especially right before Thanksgiving.
Andplusalso, my kid has pushed out two teeth in the past couple of days and is starting to use them. It seems entirely too early for teeth.
Re: Minor grumbling
Me too Christin. "See the teeth on my shirt? Those are also in my mouth. HEH HEH HEH."
I'm sorry about your plugged duct Buddha. Those hurt like hell. And the dickens. Combined.
Oh gosh, I hope you don't get mastitis again. Keep nursing and massaging.
Holy cow, two teeth already? Owen has none. Though he is trying.
Ugh, I'm sorry about the clogged duct. I've had a number of them and they suck. I've also had mastitis twice now, so I definitely know how you feel about wanting to avoid it at all costs! If it makes you feel better, I once took a week to get rid of a clogged duct, but somehow avoided getting mastitis that time!
Other things to try: Ice lightly between pumping/nursing sessions (can reduce swelling in duct), soy lecithin supplements (natural fatty acid that helps keep the fats in bm from sticking together), and dangle feeding (as awkward as it sounds, but definitely helps... basically, lay baby down on bed/floor/whatever, and kneel on all fours above him to nurse... gravity plus change in position of breast help move clog along).
Good luck.
Maybe I don't have a heightened sense of smell, but I've never smelled any vagina on my pants. -- TSD
