Hello!
My hubs and I are planning a few nights getaway to Miami in March (baby free)- but I'm clueless about where to look for hotels & things to do. We like good food, the beach, bars, and just general toursity stuff -
Do you have any recs on what area we should stay in? Sorry if this is the wrong board, please let me know and I'll redirect
TIA
Re: Miami?
My heart is as open as the sky.
Read about it on the blog
2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
My DH, close friends, and I recently took a vacation to Miami. My DH and I have family there, but we wanted to do the true touristy thing. There are a TON of great locations in South Beach, maybe even around Bayside. We stayed at the Hilton about 5-8 minutes from the beach.
Please keep in mind, though, that parking for these hotels are border-line ridiculous. Often you have to pay for parking at the hotel daily, or valet daily. There is usually no way to park at the hotel without paying, then you have to pay for parking for the beach or some restaurants. Keep that in mind with your budget No one bothered to let us know until we got there!
Good luck!
I'm from Miami and pretty much if you stay at a major chain in south beach you'll be fine. However, if you try to stay at a smaller hotel nearby it might not be so nice....
You could also stay by Miami International Airport and avoid all the crazy traffic. There is a doubletree that is right before the toll that is really pretty. Also, there is an underground wholesale retailer in the hotel called The Mart its open to the public on the weekend and is really worth checking out. Anywho, let me know if there are any other questions that you have
