Any "Royal Wedding" watchers?

I have to confess...I am a royal wedding watcher! It' hard to believe that 30 years after being glued to the screen when his parents were married,  I'm looking forward to watching William and Kate's! What will she wear? What jewelry? Her ladies? The fashion show at the wedding!

And of course, I don't know her from adam, but it's so neat that he marrying a "commoner"...what must her world be like now?

Re: Any "Royal Wedding" watchers?

  • I'm intrigued.  Don't know that I'll place a bet on what day it's going to be on.  If it's on TV, I will likely watch some of it just because it's history and I want to see.

I, too, like the idea that he is marrying a commoner.   Nice to know that there is still hope for us peons!

  • Oooo I know I'm so excited! I mean aside from being in the wedding business (hello imagine all the trends it will set!!!) I just was always fascinated by the whole thing. So I'm excited for it!
  • I can't imagine being her - every little girl grows up hoping to find her prince charming, and hers just happens to be a real life prince! From the photos from yesterday, they look so happy together. And it's so romantic that he gave her Princess Diana's engagement ring! I'm fascinated... I can't wait to see the beautiful wedding!

  • I am more excited about this than I ever thought I would be. She seems so down-to-earth for a future queen, and they look so happy together - not at all like William's parents! Last night DH thought I was crazy for being so excited.  I also love that he's marrying a commoner and that she seems to be very accepted by his family, it really represents how far things have come. I feel like she will be the first "modern" princess/queen, although Diana certainly tried.

  • I also think it will be nice to watch a piece of history if it is on TV. I'm also interested to see what she wears and when/how they do the whole thing, but I honestly kind of hope they make it more private and about themselves, instead of how Prince Charles and Diana did it.

I heard that it is going to be televised, as was his parents. I totally get your point, though - but I also think it's kind of neat in a way that the royals invite their country (and by extension, the world) to celebrate with them....my best friend from HS lives in England, and she was telling me that the whole country feels as though it's their son and daughter getting married....but I'm sure they are making their own private moments. Hopefully, times have changed enough that at least she won't be obligated to march her firstborn out on the balcony and share him with the country shortly after giving birth, like his Mom did with him :-)

  • Yes I'm pretty excited!!!!  I was only a baby when Charles and Di got married, so I am so glad I get to see a royal wedding.  He is so handsome and she's gorgeous, so imagine the clothes and how they are going to look??  I can't wait to see all the amazing (expensive) details of the venue and clothing and jewelry - I am glad I'm not the only one excited since hubby thought I was nuts too when I told him about it.  He's like, "umm, so what?"
  • Alli: Hahaha!! Yup - this is totally a "girlie thing"...guys just don't get it!!
