Clarification on RN

I just wanted to Clarify for everyone, I just took my NCLEX for LVN, not RN. ?I am sorry if I mislead any of you.image

?I wish it were for RN. ?I just couldn't get in to any RN schools. ?I have tried and tried but couldn't, so I figured I would go the LVN-RN route. ?I will begin applying to RN school in Jan when the applications are being accepted.

When I was ready to go back to work after having Jacob I sat down with DH and said "I can go get an office job and hate it in 6 mos or I can take 1 year of school and at least be in the field I originally wanted to be in and try to get in to RN school from there." ?He said go for it. ?So I went to LVN school and finished in the top 3 of my class.

The LVN board works a little different, that is why I am so frustrated. ?I will not get my results for 3-4 weeks, after that I hate to wait another 3-4 weeks to get my license. ?Such BS. ?I graduated in the end of June and it take almost 6 mos to get a license.

My journey to be an RN started almost 10 years ago when I decided to go back to school at night while working full time during the day. ?I took all my GE and nursing pre-req's and got my AA from PCC in 2003, I took my last pre-req in end 2004. ?I applied for RN schools in '05 but did not get in, I got pg with Jacob and had him in '06, went to LVN school on '07 ?

Once again I am sorry if I lead everyone / anyone to believe otherwise, I know when I say nursing school everyone expects RN, I get that everywhere. ?I really do wish it was RN, I would love that paycheck vs. the LVN one.

I love all you nesties you are the best, always letting me vent. Sorry?image

Re: Clarification on RN

  • Still sending you RN dust!  Please take my NCLEX dust for now.  Wink
  • One of the moms here at my preschool is doing the same thing.  She is now waiting for her license.  Took the exam a few weeks ago.  I believe she goes in to the RN program either in January or next Fall.

    Good luck!!!

  • No need to apologize---an accomplishment is an accomplishment. That's great that you are making progress towards your dream!

Do you know what you want to do with your LVN? Work in a clinic/hospital, etc...?
