Hi ladies!
Thank you for all your help with the apartment suggestions. I will definitely be checking them out when we get out west.
For the first month we'll be in California, we'll be staying in Marina del Rey. I don't know anything about the area - do you amazingly helpful Nesties have any suggestions for good restaurants, shops, and stores in the area? Any ideas are much appreciated.

Great area. As far as restaurants, if you like Sushi, IRORI on 4371 Glencoe Ave
is great place. Inexpensive and great ambiance. It is located in a shopping center near VONS. Also The Counter has great hamburgers that is closer to the Marina.
Marina Del Rey is right next to Venice. I suggest checking out Abbot Kinney. Great shops and restaurtants and bars. Every month the hold event called First Fridays on Abbot Kinney. All shops stay open late and some places have bands playing while passing out appetizers and free drinks. Worth checking out one time. http://www.abbotkinneyonline.com/
