Hey ladies! I told my MIL last night I would bring a dessert to Thanksgiving, but I don't know what to bring. I tried searching the net for some ideas but it was so overwhelming and nothing stuck out to me. As far as I know, the basic pies are covered (pumpkin and apple).
So, what are you bringing for dessert or looking forward to having for dessert at Thanksgiving?

What about the gooey pumpkin cake munkii posted below? Or are you trying to stay away from pumpkin because there will also be pumpkin pie?
Is there a flavor you want to go with?
I have a great cheesecake recipe (plain, with cherry topping), if you want it. I also have an awesome Death By Chocolate recipe (similar to a trifle). The only problems with these are that they are very rich and heavy after a heavy meal.
Here's the recipe my cousin uses. She uses pecans instead of walnuts and it is SO GOOD! I want some right now.

The more I think about it, the intrigued I am by the idea of something like lemon bars or lemon meringue pie, even though they're not considered "winter foods." They're neither rich, nor heavy, they're refreshing after a big meal and I feel that they would be a nice contrast to pumpkin and apple pie.
I'd be happy to share my grandma's LM pie recipe (a family treasure) if you decide to go that route.
@Karen, lemons are always good. If you want to stick to a more wintery citrus, you could do orange bars (or blood orange bars). Arance alla principessa would also be a light, fresh alternative, but I'm partial to caramelized citrus (think lemon cake with topped with caramel).
I am in the same boat- I'm supposed to bring a desert to Thanksgiving, but pumpkin and apple pie are already covered.
I think I'm going to make this- caramelized pear upside down cake. I thought pears are still pretty "fall-y" and I liked that it can be served at room temperature. I'll probably up the spice a little bit and add some ground cloves/extra cinnamon.
my mom makes 7 layer bars, they are AMAZING. heres the recipe:
