Day in Hood River

So my mom is coming visit in 2 weeks and her only request is that we spend a day in Hood River. What would do with 1 day in Hood River? I'm also poking around other sites for tips. But I figure this is as good a place as any for an insider tips.

She loves outdoors, spas, lavender, good food, etc...

I'd stop at Multnomah Falls on the way or maybe the way back. Also the Columbia River Gorge Hotel (link on my blog). There's tons of hiking. You could also do Hood River's Fruit Loop.

I'd start with the breakfast at the Columbia Gorge Hotel. It's quite an experience and takes a long time.
