Help! Pot Luck Tomorrow!

So, DH is having a pot luck tomorrow at this office and I was planning on making pumpkin cheesecake but they've already got too much dessert! I need an easy savory side or something new and different.

Here is the list of whats already there: Turkeys Ham Pecan Pie Cake Spicy Mashed Potatoes Green Bean Casserole Lasagna Cookies Spin ach Salad Rolls Apple Broccoli Salad Butternut Squash Risotto Deviled Eggs Crowder Peas Pumpkin Pie Spinach & Artichoke casserole Spinach/Cranberry Salad Apple Pie Rigatoni Baked Beans Candied Yams Sausage Sauerkraut Potato Salad

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Re: Help! Pot Luck Tomorrow!

  • It looks like they need some finger food-snackey-appetizery things.  Some thoughts:  Reuben Bites, Puff Pastry Cups with Brie and Fruit, Phyllo Cups with Blue Cheese and Pears, Bacon-Wrapped Water Chesnuts, Asparagus wrapped in Proscuitto with Balsamic Glaze, Crostadas with Goat Cheese, Honey and Thyme.
  • I really don't see that many desserts.  Unless I'm missing something, there is pecan pie cake, cookies, pumpkin pie, and apple pie.  There is not chocolate anywhere.  I'd make peanut butter blossoms or a cranberry nut bread.
  • I agree with adding appetizers.  We used to do at potluck at work and the guys would always start looking for food around 10 am, so we would set out appetizers.  I would make a couple dips and send them with a big bag of pita chips or crostinis.
  • Wellllll since it's after 8:00 I'm sure I'm late but I agree with the others that posted about needing an appetizer or something like that. I always get compliments on my cheeseball (and for some reason, I only make it this time of year...I don't know why though, haha). I put shredded mozarella and cheddar cheese, softened cream cheese, worcestershire sauce, beef budding and sliced scallions in a food processor then mold it into a ball (or log, depending on what I serve it on) and roll it/cover it in sliced almonds.
