Do you know where this is in Madison?

Hi All!

Let me first just explain, my husband and I are looking to move to Madison sometime soon. As I was looking at the visitmadison.com website to try and find out more information about the area, I came across a picture of what looks like an adorable area to live. I am pasting the link below. Do any of you know what area of madison this is (its probably a stretch). Or do you have any recommendations of areas to look at?

Thanks!

  • It looks like it's one of the Veridian neighborhoods.

  • My husband and I are currently house hunting in Madison, too!  We live in Iowa, and have been back and forth several times.  This is definitely one of the Veridian neighborhoods, hard to tell which one.  They all kind of look the same.  However, if you're interested, you could probably find one in a location that is close to your jobs.  There are probably about 9-10 of them.

You basically can choose your home from a "menu" and select all the amenities you want.  Kind of neat, but also kind of weird.

  • you guys are amazing. thanks!
  • I'm a Madison resident and if you're interested in any of the Veridian Homes neighborhoods, you should be aware that they are on the absolute outskirts of Madison.  You'll be living next to highways and corn fields.  Which is fine, it's just not really representative of what a real neighborhood here is like in the city.  Most of Madison's established areas are older homes, mainly Victorians.  Some of the best (in my biased opinion) are in the Vilas, Atwood, Williamson, or Monroe St. areas.  It's hard to appreciate from a map how tricky Madison's layout can be because of the location on the isthmus.  From the outlying bedroom communities it can take upwards of a half hour to get into the downtown/campus area and there are no buslines which is not ideal since parking is limited and expensive in that area.  Just some things to be aware of.
  • It looks a lot like this neighborhood http://providence.starkhomes.com/
