30th bday ideas?
DHs bday is Jan 2 and every year it kind of gets forgotten. We also just moved back to the States from Germany...we live in Las Vegas and have a new baby. So 30 is going to be a great year! I thought about doing a new years eve party but that still takes the attention off him....anyone have ideas or been to a cool 30th bday party for a guy?? Thanks!

I rented out a bar and threw a big bash for my DH's birthday last year. Over 50 of our closest friends and family enjoyed drinks and appetizers. His is right around Thanksgiving and tends to get overlooked as well. He was completely suprised and we had so much fun.
Do it as a NYE party but really do a surprise birthday party...you can still toast the new years but decorate for his birthday and have a cake. It's hard to get people to go to another party around the same time so if they know they'll still get to do the new years but it'll be MORE for his birthday I think he'll have a blast and actually be caught off guard.
You can have everything themed around his birthday. maybe 80's themed, Or you can do it all upscale and serve dirty martini's (for the dirty 30)...really the only good thing about new years is the toasting at 12, so all attention can pretty much be on him until then.
I did a football themed party at our place for DH's 30th...complete with tailgating food & astroturf on the tables. Everyone wore jerseys or football related shirts... it was a great time!
My 30th was just a couple months ago & we rented out a room at a local restaurant... it was a pizza party - complete with Wii bowling!
