Re: Book suggestions...

  • I read the Millenium series. I liked them, but it's hard to get into with the swedish street names/transport/people names/money/government system. If you can slug through that, they're a worthwhile read.

What types of books do you like? I read a book or a book and a half a week so I have a wide range of them to suggest.

    Have you read The Help?

How much time a week do you spend reading?  I am a slow reader and even if I concentrate on a book it seems like it takes me a month.

  • I have been reading travel books lately, but on our HM I read two.

Eat.Love.Pray.  It was really hard for me to get into.  The first third of the book draaagggggeeed, but I liked the end.

A Happy Marriage by Rafael Yglesias  I picked this one up on a whim at Costco the week before the wedding, not sure what to expect.  I looooved this book.  It was so sweet, but sad.  I almost wanted to read it again once I was done.

Here's the description and reviews on Amazon:

  • I usually read a book a week.

I haven't read The Help but it's on my list.

I read just about anything. I'm not picky but I seem to keep going back to the same authors and I'm about done with them. Jodi Piccoult, read all of Nicholas Sparks books, Madeleine Wickham and Sophie Kinsella.

It really just depends on my mood whether I want an easy, fun read or more of an historical background type thing like "Sarah's Key" and "A Secret Kept". Both of those had french dialogue and I was okay so I'll give the millenum series a try. I can usually sludge through any book.

  • Last month I read The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson and I fell in love with it.  I could read it over and over again!  It's a super quick read though which is the only downside.

I just started reading Room by Emma Donoghue and so far it's good.

I read a summary online through Barnes & Noble of Stay by Allie Larkin and it looks really good - this will be my next read.

  • I'm a very fast reader. I read on the train most days for a total of probably a half hour or 40 minutes out of the ride to and from. I could read more but I'm texting and facebooking. hahahah

  • I wish I had time to read!

  • I'm going to take some of these suggestions.  I've had a hard time finding a book to get into.

I loved "Eat, Pray, Love" my other favorite is "It's Not About the Bike" by Lance Armstrong.  Its just amazing.

  • I love to read so I have a lot of suggestions:

An Inconvienent Wife by Megan Chance
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Steig Larsson
    Still Alice by Lisa Genova
The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein
The Red Tent by Anita Diamant
    The Time Travellers Wife
Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden
East of Eden by John Stienbeck
Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jaime Ford

If you like chick lit I adore The Little Lady Agency series by Hester Browne.
