What household items do you want most?
I try to buy my brother a household item for Christmas/his birthday. He is the kind of guy who doesn't want many things so shopping is difficult. Last Christmas I noticed his cookie sheets and baking pans were all mismatched/scratched/warped. I got him all new stuff and he was truly happy with it.
So what household items do you wish you had a new version of (I'm planning Christmas gifts
)?
Re: What household items do you want most?
Here are some I think are easy to buy for other people (unlike comforters or something a little personal and hard to buy for another's home)
silverware
sheet sets (i don't need new ones but those are always a nice gift when they are high end)
tumblers
cool new coffee pot or tea kettle
bathroom towels
electric blanket or down blanket
(BTW, new baking sheets and stuff is such a good gift idea)

I bought my 2nd brother one of these last year too! I got a Martha Stewart version at Macy's with a 20% off coupon. It was like $80 to start with, then on sale, then a coupon it came to like $45! I have the same one and I love the Martha brand! Works great.

This year I want new containers for my dry goods (Oxo Pops) and Pyrex dishes to work on replacing our Tupperware.
I was also realizing the other day that a stainless, grid-style cooling rack would be really helpful. The ones I have are not a grid, so smaller items fall through, and they are painted, so I don't want to put them in the oven.
I would like a dutch oven, kitchenaid mixer and a meat thermometer ( the kind you can put in the oven).
Does your brother have a grill ? Would he like new grilling accessories ?

You can never have enough nice new sheets/towels.
Nice blankets that can work on the bed or as nice throw blankets for the couch are always great, and memory foam pillows are fantastic presents. (The linens I got as wedding presents were my favourite...I appreciate the people who gave them to us every night when I have a comfy bed to cozy in to.)
Drinking glasses for his favourite drink are nice, especially if they're nicer quality than he would buy for himself. (Wine glasses for the wine drinker, scotch glasses/champagne flutes/shot glasses as is the case.) Plus a bottle of scotch with scotch glasses is always fun.
Big throw pillows for the couch are also great and make a big difference to the look of the room.

The answer above is not what I want. Is there a better suggestion?
