Any good animal rescues in your area?

I desperately need to find homes for three cats. My landlord left two here in (which we have been taking care of for four months) and the other was a stray that showed at our house in very poor condishtion. I have been trying to find the stray i home for months but all the animal rescues in eugene are full.

My landlord put me in charge for finding a home for the other two cats also. We don't have the money to take care of all these cats anymore (we have two cats of our own also).  The living condishtions are not good for any of us and having so many cats makes it worse.

I was wondering if their are any good rescue groups in your area? I am will to travel to make sure these cats go to a good place.

  • Cat Adoption Team in Sherwood is not taking animals from the public right now, but they do have a monthly food bank that you could come for. Their website is catadoptionteam.org.

You could also try the Pixie Project, not sure if they're taking any in curently, but they take in dogs and cats. pixieproject.org

The Oregon Humane Society is another option. oregonhumane.org

Have you contacted a rescue organization to have them do a courtesy listing for you?

  • Thank you. They are listed on pet finder .com and craigslist.
  • If you cannot find a rescue organization in Oregon, you can surrender them at the Humane Society of Southwest Washington in Vancouver.  There is a $50 charge (each) for out of county surrenders and your cats must have vet exam paperwork (since they are from out of state).  They won't take strays from out of county though.
