I just washed my ipod.....

AND headphones.. and i'm afraid to turn it on!! :( what should i do?? Is it ruined :( please say no!

Re: I just washed my ipod.....

  • I've heard that you need to leave it be and let it sit for at least 2-3 days. Put it in a back of rice, etc.

My husband's iPod was dropped and outside in rain. We tried turning it on immediately (stupid move) and luckily it didn't fry it. Once the iPod got back to room temperature it worked when we turned it on about a week later.

  • i've accidently jumped into the pool with my ipod/headphones in my pocket.. DONT turn it on.... instead do as the pp said and put it in a bag of rice (to help absorb the mositure).. I left mine in the rice for 3 days (actually needed 2 bags so it was totally covered).. and then for 1 day i let it sit out in direct sunlight.. I was able to turn it on again! it seems to move a little slower (like when i want to skip forward) but it works!
    xoxo!
  • I agree with the others. DO NOT TURN IT ON. Put it so it is 100% covered in rice and let it sit for about 3 days.
