Anyone want to weigh in on this debate? We were waiting for the iPhone
to come out with Verizon, but Android phones are now a penny on amazon
if you sign a Verizon contract by tomorrow. I really want a smart phone
and want to get off AT&T... do I go for the Android or wait until
the iPhone is released on Verizon in possibly January?
Re: Droid vs iPhone?
I have the Android b/c I wasn't willing to give up my Verizon contract to get an IPhone.
I LOVE my android. Seriously. I don't even know if I could go back to an IPhone now, because the 'droid is so much more customizable...and it's nice to have flash
I'm pretty partial to my Droid so I vote that...I am on verizon through work, and everyone here is anxiously awaiting the launch of the iPhone on Verizong, but realistically based on all the gossip I've been reading, it won't happen in January because Apple usually only makes announcements in January, it'll be early 2nd Quarter before anything really happens, and even then I probably wouldn't want the first phone off the line.
Depending on who you talk to though Verizon CEO, or Apple...the iPhone will or won't be coming. Verizon said they don't want the iPhone until they have 4G completely rolled out and that won't be until 2012. Apple said they'll have the iPhone ready to go as of January 2011...so we'll see.
Handsdown I vote for an iPhone. I used a droid with AT&T and it did not compare at all with the iPhone.
I have played with my mother's droid from Verizon and I do not care for it either.
The MarketPlace apps are not user friendly compared to AppStore apps with the iPhone.
My mom has to jump through hoops to use the Facebook app on her droid and often gives up and just goes through the website within her browser icon.
With the iPhone I have not found annoyances like those. The phone simply does what I need it to do without wanting to chunk it across the room.
That's actually the AT&T droid phone that we bought (still have, trying to sell) and we had a lot of software problems with it.
Constantly crashing the browser when surfing the internet. Random apps would be open when we'd unlock our phones.
iPhone 4 has so many amazing upgrades. The camera has flash, takes great photos, and the facetime is amazing! And it works fabulously, I have never had an issues with software, etc...
My only wish is that you could download a software update without connecting to your computer, and I believe Droids have that capability.

DH and I have iPhones. We gave up our Verizon account to go to AT&T and get the iphones. No regrets at all. Verizon was terrible with customer service so we are happy to be rid of them. So far we've had no issues with AT&T.
