Monday morning randoms

1) I went online to cvs.com to refill my antidepressant, only the website said that I already refilled it last week. Except I didn't. I called and they said it wasn't on automatic refill, so who the frick refilled my prescription? It's sitting there waiting to be picked up, so I'm wondering if it was a mistake, but still...really odd.

2) I won the PenguinBot giveaway! I never win anything!

Re: Monday morning randoms

  • Very weird about the prescription. My mom has had some weird happenings with cvs pharmacy lately. I know they're different from store to store... but my mom's cvs tech messed up on some pretty serious drugs. They were supposed to fill her husband's prescription for morphine (among other things). When she got home and went through the bag, they left out the morphine and had given her someone else's prescription. She went back to the store to fix the mess up and tried to explain to the tech about being more concerned about someone potentially getting the morphine order and not knowing it... The stupid tech was all, "Don't worry about it. You didn't get charged."  Indifferent   There was more mess up after that... they tech didn't fill the entire order when she finally did get the morphine, so a few weeks later my mom had to fight with the pharmacy about getting more because obviously they wouldn't refill until it was time.

    Am I rambling?

Very awesome about winning the coveted PenguinBot bag!!!

  • Holy sheez! That's ridiculous. It doesn't help that 90% of the people who work there are 18 year old morons.

  • Yay for winning! I never win anything either.

I will ramble about my weekend. I spent a little too much money at x-mas tree shop yesterday, but I got some awesome stuff. I think I'm a little too excited about Christmas.

We also started painting the trim on the 2 big windows in our living room. They were stained dark, I liked it, but it matched nothing. It looks so much better and brighter already. Here are two crappy cell phone pictures of one before and one primed.

  • Congrats on the PenguinBot win!

I've managed to change a few things with Lila and how we interact and things have gotten a lot better.   There's a lot of me counting to 10 and looking skyward, but the battles have decreased signifigantly.

We were at a wedding this weekend and i've never seen an uglier venue with worse food.

  • Hezz! You were in my dream last night (you people keep popping up in my dreams). You came over to my house to get away from Pete because he was pissed at you for not birthing Lauren yet.

  • I never signed up for automatic refill at cvs, yet they still automatically refill my prescription each month.  Congratulations on the PenguinBot bag!

Hezz, how are you feeling?  Where the heck is Lauren?  Does she know that being born on Thursday is not an option?

Yet again, my mom pissed me off this weekend.  She was complaining that she never sees Miles.  We all met at my sister's place on Sunday so my mom could play with the kids.  Miles was a little clingy with me because he didn't sleep well the night before.  So, of course, my mom spent the entire time making snide comments about how much he misses his mommy because "that poor baby is in daycare all week".  Dude - daycare is fun.  They love him and he loves it there.  Stop judging me lady!  I am getting better with my responses to her and I try not to let it visibly ruffle my feathers, but still...enough, 'kay?

  • I need to go to Borders to get the 2nd book in the Hunger Games.  I borrowed it from my 13 yo neice this weekend and really enjoyed it.  I'm on the precipice of choosing between purchasing this book or a Kindle.  Maybe I should just get the Kindle already and join the 21st century.

Do it. You can read one-handed! Perfect for nursing!

  • I had a little too much to drink Saturday night and ended up telling four of my friends about my upcoming gastric bypass surgery.  I had planned to not tell them until after it was done for fear of them trying to talk me out of it.  They were actually very supportive which was a nice surprise.  I'm sure they won't keep it to themseleves, but whatever, people are obviously going to find out sooner or later.

  • November... if ever you're in need of some random thug for hire to ruff up your mom to put a little fear of God into her, I'm your thug. Your mom is seriously Mommy Dearest.

CMC! I never make it into dreams! Thanks for taking me in! :)
I feel pretty great physically. But mentally I feel like I'm losing my shiz. And I know it's crazy because I'm not due until Sunday... but having those early contractions and my trip to L&D really put a twist on my expectations. I feel like she should be here already.  Every night when I go to bed I fall asleep thinking that tonight is the night and I'm going to wake up soaking wet in my own juices. I've put far too much stock into old wives tales like pineapple, full moons, spicy food, and orgasms. I'm just going to resign myself over to thinking Monster Vagina has her trapped and she's never coming out.

  • Damn, I am super jealousE of you winning the Penguinbot bag!  I wanted it for my very own.

Mashed, I didn't realize you were all signed up for the surgery!  When is it scheduled?  Are you scurred or excited or both?

My left arm is so sore.  I got to watch Seanicorn for a few hours yesterday so his parents could go see HP7, but carrying a baby around all that time reminded me how much of a weakling I am.  You'd think I was doing bicep curls all day with the way my muscle feels.  Also, Sean is a total joy and such an easy baby.

ZOMG Tasty!  Jack looks super cute in his little banana suit.

  • cali, I don't have a date yet, I meet with my surgeon on Dec. 2 and I'm told they usually schedule the surgery within weeks as long as the insurance co. approves it.  I hear my ins. co. is pretty quick at sending approval so it could be before the end of the year if I want it to be.

I'm excited and terrified at the same time.

  • I spent the weekend with a sick and grouchy toddler. She has no real symptoms but a fever and no appetite. She is a total bear. We also had new carpet installed in our family room. I love it and want to roll around on it.

DUDE, I now have carpal tunnel in my left wrist so bad it goes numb and clicks.  My right wrist is no picnic, but at least I can move it.  This is one of those things I had no idea about until I became a mother.

and thanks!  we loooove his banana suit. :  )  And it's funny because everyone calls it "banana suit" and not "outfit" or "sleeper" or something.  It's a suit!

Yup. I did that too. My doctor just ordered braces for me last week because it's clearly not going away, and I want to avoid surgery. Definitely keep an eye on it.

  • Thanks Cali! I'm glad he was decent for you. He took it easy on you -- he has not stopped pooping all morning. I guess he wanted to spare you that particular pleasure.

My right arm is dead from holding him at the Blazer game on Saturday.

We are supposed to go down to Ashland (5 hour drive) to meet Dan's mom and gparents for Thanksgiving. They are driving up from San Francisco. Originally we had rented a house (his mom paid) for Weds - Sun. Well now she's freaking out that it might snow, so she's canceling part of it. We are now staying Wed - Fri. 5 hour drive for a 2 night stay. Hurray.

  • Last Thursday F picked Ian up from daycare, and left his fleece hanging on his hook (he had another jacket with him).  When I picked him up Friday afternoon, it wasn't there, so I asked the teacher if she'd seen it.  I finally found it at the bottom of a pile of laundry, and she said, "oh, someone put that on William when we went outside today."

I said "it's Ian's.  See his name is written on the tag."  And I go to show her the tag, and someone cut the tag off!   The mystery of the fleece bothered me all weekend.

  • The banana suit says, "I want to be formal, but I'm here to party."

  • I had a weird CVS experience lately too. In my smorgasbord of medications they apparently gave me 120 Percocet instead of the 40 it says I should have.  A pharmacist called me to ask me to drop the extra 80 off.

Cali, Kevin told me to tell you he loves you. He is quite fond of the package.

That is effed up. You should sell them for a profit.

  • Bethie - Miranda asked me if I knew you after she drew the winning number, and she was excited to find out that you read her blog regularly and like it. She was saying how she usually only has 10 comments on a blog post so (even though she has a sitemeter) she always feels surprised when other people enjoy the blog.

Tasty - Kindle + nursing is the best. The best Jerry! Go for it.

Kristen - Will had something similar to that last week. Fever, no appetite, pretty lethargic. Then after a few days of that he puked several times. Now he's pretty much better, except for a terrible cough. Fun times.

BIL and SIL got here on Saturday and they're staying with us a few days before we all go up to Lorne's grandma's for Thanksgiving, and it's awesome. Will and their daughter are adorable together, even when they fight, and we've just been playing games and taking walks and talking. This afternoon we're going to go see HP7, then tonight SIL and I are going to bake a cake.

Aww, I read blogs through Google reader so I never end up commenting! I feel bad, I should comment more. She's really sweet.

Another random--my MIL is getting a new tattoo! Per FB, this one will be "a Dreamcatcher with a fleur-de-lis as the inner threads with feathers the color of our bird". Confused

I hope we avoid the barf. I took her to the pedi on Thursday to make sure her ears were ok and she thought it was croup, but that hasn't manifested thank goodness.

Also, we tried Ferbering Owen this weekend. That's hard to do with another kid sleeping in the house. And I ordered a new double stroller. Can't wait to get it.

  • Where is she going to put it, Bethie? That sounds really special. Tongue Tied

This is the first year we're doing Thanksgiving all by our lonesomes. It feels so anti-climatic not getting a big turkey.

  • I have no idea. Her existing tattoo is on her bicep. That one's a gigantic fleur de lis in purple, gold, and green (of course).

I'm being an awesome DIL and making her a scarf for Christmas. I found this HIDEOUS purple, gold, and green verigated yarn, too. I am amazing.

  • That's hilarious, Bob.  What does she mean by "our bird" - like, her pet?

    image
  • Bethie - Please, PLEASE figure out a way to get a picture of this for us. PLEASE.

Kristen - What kind of stroller did you get? We have one of the sit & stand ones, and most of the time Will would just prefer to walk, but it's really nice to have at the end of a day at the zoo or at the end of a long walk when he starts dragging his feet. Now that Evie can sit in it without the car seat it's more comfortable for Will to sit on too.

Yup! They had a bird named Gypsy that died last year. MIL would walk around the house with the bird on her shoulder. It was gross. The bird dive-bombed my SIL one morning during breakfast when she was visiting. I would've shiit my pants. I HATE birds.
