Oh, having a boy is tough

I got a call from my 8 yr olds school yesterday saying him and another kid collided in gym and he has a bruise under his eye. I wasn't too worried cause I don't think he has ever been without a bruise somewhere on his body.

So, I picked him up from school and...... he has a huge black eye!!!  I guess at first it was a small bruise but after a couple of hours it got worse. He can keep his eye open but the bottom is black and blue. I had to take pictures to put in his memory book. He thought it was pretty cool.

So fair warning ladies, when you or if you have a boy be ready for cuts, bruises and scrapes.

Re: Oh, having a boy is tough

  • I swear if I have a boy he is going to be the most outdoorsy boy there is... loving every bug (and having to show me it in his hands.... ew), going in evey puddle, jumping off every ledge, climbing every tree.

Hope DS is doing ok! Too bad Halloween isn't this week.. he could have gone as a beat up hockey player or something (so it looks part of the costume).

  • Boys are fun. He is very outgoing. He is a boys boys. But he still loves his mama and is not afraid to give me a kiss and hug in front of his friends. He will be okay. We were at the dinner table last night and we were talking about is eye and he says "mama, do you really think this will be my only black eye?" I had to giggle.
