I am so sad. DH's grandmother passed away Friday night. It was not exactly a surprise as she just turned 95 and had several mini-strokes over the last few weeks. DH booked flights home for the services and we spent Saturday buying him a suit, several shirts/ties, garment bag, shoes, etc because she asked him to be a pall-bearer at her funeral. He was supposed to fly home today. He was up all night VERY sick. I will spare the gory details, but for anyone who has experienced it, we think it is food poisoning. This morning I changed his flight to tomorrow and we went to the ER. All they did was give him IV fluids and sent him home with instructions to take Immodium and if it doesn't go away to go to his regular doctor in the next day or so. His labs were normal except for a high WBC count and very low-grade temp.
He tried to eat lunch and projectile vomited (fortunately in the bathroom!). This afternoon he has kept down an apple (which is mostly water) and half of a cheese sandwich but now has upper abdominal gas pain. He is really upset that if this doesn't get better there is no way that he can fly tomorrow and he will miss his grandmother's funeral. Please say a prayer that he gets better this evening/tonight!
