Photo Christmast Cards??

Okay, is it weird to have a photo Christmas card when you don't have kids?

My husband and I live 3,000 miles from our families and thought it might be nice to do the photo card this year. Please weigh in... I have only ever received photo cards from families with kids.

Re: Photo Christmast Cards??

  • I don't think so, especially since you live so far away and probably don't get to see people back home that often.

Do you have any pictures of you guys from someplace you traveled, or something you did in the past year? I like getting pictures from vacations, even if it's a casual picture.

We're hoping to buy a house before Christmas and if we do we are thinking of having ours taken in front of our first house since most of our family will never see it. Family pictures in front of a tree or fireplace is so boring to me.

  • not at all...I just did mine 10 secs ago (you are a mind reader). Just htought it would be nicer than buying them and I got them free at shutterfly
  • I love photo cards and especially those w/o kids.  I have a couple single friends who do these cards.  One loves to travel and always takes a picture on her trip that she can use for her card.

A pet peeve of mine is actually when once people have kids, their cards are ONLY of their kids, never them.

    ITA!

We've done photo cards since we've been married (this is our 4th Christmas) - starting with a wedding one (we used our engagement pics for TYs), then mixing it up each year with either professional portraits (at Sears), a great pic taken throughout the year, or scattered vacation/etc. pics.

I've never heard of anyone thinking that pictures of single or married couples without kids was odd...

  • Good...

I guess I was analyzing it too much! We have a friend that is a photographer and we were thinking about a picture on the beach. We live in Southern California and only a few miles some picturesque beaches.

I'm glad to know it's not considered strange!  And I agree the pictures just with the kids in it are not my cup of tea.

  • I've always thought it was weird....but we ended up sending them this year, ha!
  • We put pictures of our cats wearing Santa hats and wrote a funny haiku. The response has been awesome!
