Have a question for the Mommas!

I am just curious how much you paid out of pocket for your births? I know there is a price difference when it is vaginal delivery vs. c-sec, whether or not you get drugs etc..I know it is different for everyone but I would like to hear and get an idea! : )

  • I jsut paid my deductable- which was 1500.00. I had a unplanned c-secion. However, I paid about 2,000 total out of pocket costs for my pregnancy because of my NT scan.

  • I think I paid the $100 for the hospital co-pay and that was all.  We had a small deductible too now that I think about it so we probably paid $250 over the nine months for other services, blood draws, tests etc.
  • nothing. i had 2 insurance policies (one through my work and one through dh's work) at the time and what one didn't cover, the other covered.

if dh is still with his current employer and insurance plan with our next baby, i will have to pay $115 total. it's a great plan

  • We paid only our $250 hospital co-pay
  • Wow....I thought I had a good insurance plan. United Healthcare...but now that I'm seeing what others paid, I'm questioning it. I have paid about $2000...but even 2 months later the bills are still coming. I had a vagnial delivery with an epi.

  • I had unplanned c-section. I only paid my $125.00 hospital co-pay. My total bill (that insurance paid) was about 17K. I have really good maternity coverage.

  • I also had an unplanned c-section and my OOP costs were abbot $250. I had a one time maternity copayment of $25 which covered all my appts. My hospital copay was $20. Due to GD I had to get a NST and U/S every other week at the end and those were $20 each. My insurance paid $50k for my hospital stay. (this also included DS's 10 day NICU stay. My work had great insurance
