Well, kind of I guess.
We were on 134th in South OKC at Western. We were headed westbound, as was this woman who kept swerving over the center line and hitting curbs, barely avoiding oncoming traffic, and almost hitting a telephone pole. We got to where we were approaching the onramp to I-44, and we went around her and cut her off as she entered the on-ramp. Another truck pulled up to the other side of her so she couldn't reverse, and Tyler jumped outta the car and pulled her door open...grabbed her keys and threw it in park. The woman was apparently on morphine (according to the police) and was completely incoherent. Tyler said as he was yelling at her "WTF are you doing, you could have killed someone", she said "I need to get more of my medicine"...and reached in her purse and pulled out a huge bottle of pills! It was crazy. Tyler now has to go to court to testify against her and she was booked on several charges.
Re: We just arrested someone.
I saw your post on facebook! that is come crazy sh!t! I would have been so scared! Were you scared???
my bookshelf!
Bloggy
We were terrified that she was going to hit someone. She was weaving across all of the lanes...and traffic was somewhat heavy, so I'm shocked she didn't. I was nervous whenever we whipped the car in front of hers sideways so she couldn't go forward anymore...luckily she was creeping very slowly, probably ~10mph and I was hanging out the window of the passenger side SCREAMING stop and waving my hands. She looked at me and you could tell she was so confused.
Holy sh!t girl. Way to be proactive!!!! I am glad no one was hurt.

That's what I told Tyler. I know, without any doubt in my mind, that if she got on 44 she would have killed herself or someone else. We just kept saying to each other that if we don't stop her, someone's holidays could be completely ruined. That sounds really dramatic, but when we were putting our vehicle in front of her crazy ass, it was pretty intense. Now I keep thinking, what if she would have hit our car? We had B with us, that was stupid! But the other half of me knows that at 10mph on the on-ramp, we aren't going to get hurt or die, but if she entered the highway someone definitely would have. I so wanted to get out of the car and punch her repeatedly. I think Tyler yelled at her enough for both of us...too bad she was so out of it that it did absolutely no good.
Anyone know how this will work in court?
In traffic court, T will just give a statement- he won't be cross examined or anything. Since there wasn't any property damage or any injuries/fatalities (THANK GOD) she will be charged with a DWI or DUI and/or wreckless driving/endangerment. If she had a perscription for those pills, she won't be punished too heavily, but if she had them illegally, she will get prosecuted. Being charged with driving under the influence of drugs SHOULD be prosecuted just as strictly as alcohol, but currently, in Oklahoma, its not. I think my sister's case was the first DUI of drugs where there was a fatality in Oklahoma and she didn't serve any prison time, just community service and probation (which p!ssed a lot of people off.)
They really should have more restrictions/punishments for this kind of thing; it makes me sick to think about what could have happened if you guys hadn't stopped her.
Thanks for the info! The officer wanted to make sure T could identify the woman if he saw her in court. He had to sign both tickets they gave her in order for them to charge her with anything since she wasn't in motion when the police arrived. It's stupid that two eyewitness accounts can't allow the police to go ahead and write the charge up. But, I don't make the law, obviously. T had the option of letting her get off with public intox and not going to court, or doing a citizens arrest for DUI and crossing the center line. He chose the latter, solely because he can't fathom her getting a slap on the wrist (PI) for doing what she did. I'd love to know what her story was--whether she had the drugs legally and had taken too much, or if she had a mental illness, etc. She did mention she had four sons to Tyler--to which he responded "yeah and there's probably another family with four kids that you could have killed tonight with the way you're driving".
