DH and I are doing a Trash the Dress session next Spring or Summer so I'm not looking to get my gown preserved. The hem and the train got a little dirty from dragging on the ground but besides that there are no other stains on the dress. The price Harold's gave me for cleaning only was $149.99 and Orange Restoration Lab was $175. Is that average?? Also can anyone recommend any reputable but reasonable cleaners in lower Fairfield County or Milford/Orange area?
Re: Gown cleaning??
I used Best Cleaners in North Haven (but they have locations throughout the state). They quoted me both dry clean only, and dry clean with preservation/box. I think that dry clean only was about $150 and cleaning with preservation was $200. Since i was a first time customer, they gave me a special discount so i only ended up spending about $125 for cleaning with preservation. I'd give them a call and ask for pricing since they seemed pretty reasonable, and see if they have any discounts for first time customers. They ended up doing a great job and got out all of the dirt on the bottom of my dress. Their website is www.bestcleaners.com.
HTH!
