LED Christmas lights

How do you feel about LED Christmas lights?  Have you found good ones that you like?  My H wants to buy some to put in our yard, but I hate the ones that are so bright that they hurt my eyes.  I would rather put nothing up than put those up.  He doesn't want to use regular lights because of the electricity costs (which I understand, and am fine with).

Re: LED Christmas lights

  • I like the energy savings, hate the blue-white glow of most of them.  I totally agree that the light just isn't soft enough--not just that it can be bright, but that it's a much colder light and doesn't evoke the feeling I want, if you KWIM.

We strung lights outside for the first time this year and it's only on a couple of the tall bushes by the door.  We save energy in other ways and decorating for Xmas makes me happy so I'm going with it :)

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

YES!  I know exactly what you mean.  "Cold" is a good word to describe it.

  • I think they are pretty ugly, but DH got them last year. I do like that they don't heat up and they are more doggy safe than the regular ones. That alone makes it worth it to me. She stays away from the tree, usually, but I would hate for her to burn her nose or tongue if she got too curious.
