Re: I just got punched in the nose

  • My first year of teaching I taught Kindergarten.  I had a little boy who didn't want to follow the rules or have rest time.  He would pitch a fit every single day!!  One day me and my assistant were trying to get him to rest and he shot his head straight up and proceeded to head butt both me and my assistant.  You wouldn't think a five year old could have that much force...but it hurt.

I'm sorry about the punch in the nose.  I sometimes feel like teaching is a war zone.

  • Ouch!  Yes, definitely check Craigslist.
  • Oooh, so sorry that happened!  I hope this isn't a daily occurrence!

  • I taught autistic kids too and we had to sit on top of one guy (Middle School aged BIG boy) and hold him down b/c he was having a tantrum...he spit on us and tried to bite us.  Fun stuff!
  • I hope you're ok!!!!
  • Oh no. I'm sure he didn't mean it but that's got to be a rough job.

I teach online classes, so I homeschool him from 11:30 - 3:30. I don't know how long this is going to work out though. I don't want to end up with a broken nose!
