Frustrated.

Some friends of ours are getting married next month and their wedding is the weekend before Christmas. The ceremony is in Port Clinton then the reception is in BG. The day of their wedding is also the day my sister and the boys come in from AZ and the day of MIL's work kids Christmas party. We have also been invited to another friends with my sis and bil that evening.  I am pretty sure that we will not be going to the ceremony but I can't decide if I want to go to the reception or just send a gift.

We haven't seen said friends much lately because they were friends of other friends of ours, but they have had a falling out and will not do things together anymore and the other friends have been uninvited from the wedding. I am also not able to attend her bachelorette party since it's a 2 day long event in Chicago and she's not the type of person who would be understanding of my need to pump every few hours.

I wish that Chase would have more of an opinion... he just says "I don't care, whatever you want to do" I am just torn... I really want to see my nephews who I haven't seen since April but I feel guilty not going to the wedding.

I understand the frustration but, if it were me, I would choose family over friends anyday(I guess depending on the family member ). Since you have seen your family since April, I would think that these friends would understand and if they don't, oh well. You said you were trying to figure out if you wanted to go or just get a gift, so I'd say just get a gift and send it to them with a small not saying sorry that you couldn't attend and you hope their day is/was wonderful. This is just my opinion though.

I would just send a gift, and maybe a little 'so sorry we couldn't be there' type of note.  And I would not feel guilty.

This phrase should be banned from all DH's IMO.  I loathe hearing it.
