I picked up my race packet today. Guess it's a done deal! I will be running my first 5K tomorrow, even though I've never gotten even anywhere close to that distance while training. I took a 2 mile walk with the dog and explored around the lake a bit today to keep my legs fresh but I'm a bit nervous
I guess it's kind of hard to fail at walking/running, so I'll just go with that.

Re: AW: Wish me luck!
I'm running too! I'm forcing my H and parents to run with me too.
It's going to be SO COLD. I bought long under armor to wear under my clothes and a hat that covers my mouth and nose. I'm just going to look like eye balls bobbing by....
I finished my last 5K in about 35:00. Pitiful. Hopefully I can beat that this time, but with the wickedly cold weather... who knows!
I'm just hoping to not take an hour
The cold weather might get me moving if there's a promise of a hot shower and cocoa at the end.
Yeah, it was!
I finished with a time of 45:47, so a little more than a 14.5 minute mile. I have an aggravated groin so I'm taking it easy. That was a new thing--I think it was the hills on 4th street that I didn't think about! I haven't trained for hills, not even small ones as my neighborhood is extremely flat.
However, despite the cold and new slight injuries, I ran far more than I walked. I really only walked a few blocks out of the whole thing, now that I think about it. I really pushed myself to keep putting my feet out there and I am proud of myself for finishing. I was even running at the finish
My race pictures are a whole 'nother story. Oh hell no.
