Any recommendations for a "beginners" DSLR?

I know that I want to stick with Canon since DH's work carries them.  What model would you recommend for a beginner?

TIA!

Re: Any recommendations for a "beginners" DSLR?

  • I can't speak for Canon because I have a Nikon but I bought a Nikon D5000 this summer that I absolutely love. It's not really a "beginner" DSLR, but I am a beginner and it has worked really well for me. I prefer it over the D3000 because it has HD Video capabilities as well. The D3100 has had really good reviews too.
  • I bought DH a Canon Rebel XTI a few Christmas' ago and it's amazing
