Christmas tree farms

Hi girls, the last couple years we've just used a small fake tree for Christmas.  This year I want to restart my family tradition of going to cut down a tree.  Are there any places in or near Ada/Cascade/Lowell?  What places are reasonable?  We want a taller tree so I don't want to pay a ton per foot.  Thanks!

We always go to Hart Tree Farm, which is just a bit north of Cannonsburg. We've had great experiences with their trees and the selection is great. I'll admit we don't price shop from year to year, but I do believe their prices are comparable to other cut-your-own farms.

We also go to Hart's. However, this year they seemed a little unorganized. I don't know if it was because it's the first weekend or the high school kids doing the work, but the drilling on our tree is awful. We had it on straight when they started to drill, and it's really off to an angle. My in laws tree is just as bad. That's my only complaint, but other than that a great tree farm.

You actually don't need to drill a hole in Christmas tree trunks - it doesn't affect or help the water intake at all.

You actually don't need to drill a hole in Christmas tree trunks - it doesn't affect or help the water intake at all.  

We have a spike tree stand, so in our case we do. Just wanted to let others know if they have the same type of stand.

Well, we went to Hart.  Hudson loved the petting zoo!  I personally didn't think the trees were pruned very well and they didn't have a very good selection of really tall trees.  They did drill our hole straight, however.     We might try Bosch next year.
