What's on your tree?[Poll]
Re: POLL
I voted Angel, because that is what is in our bin of Christmas decorations downstairs. However, it's been a few years since we had a tree, and I don't really see us having one again. It's a lot of work that nobody in the house wants to help with. DH doesn't like to have the tree lit because of the reflection on the TV that annoys him to no end. DD couldn't care less and won't help with it. So, nobody (expect me) enjoys the tree and nobody wants to help put it up or take it down. It was April one year before the tree was taken down. After that I decided no more.
I voted angel.
My parents have always had an angel at the top of their tree, my brother named their angel Lacy when he was little because she's made of lace. Lacy is not the prettiest angel ever, my mom bought her at a Ben Franklin store the first Christmas my parents were married, and even though she's old and has turned pretty yellow, it's tradition to use Lacy, so she still goes at the top of their tree every year. She's been topping my parents' trees for 37 years now :-)
My parents gave us an angel tree topper as part of our wedding gift so we can have the same tradition. I actually already had an angel (I decorated trees in my home many years before getting married), but now we use our wedding angel.
Mr. Sammy Dog
I'm the person who gives 'holiday cards' and uses wrapping paper without the trees and busy stuff on it. My tree is a slim one that DH calls a Charlie Brown tree. I have single strands of silver beads, white lights and hand-blown glass or vintage glass ornaments from my Grandma on it. The top is a silver star to match the tree. Very minimalist.
I have other 'sets' of tree decorations. One is a set of snowman theme ornaments, trimmings and a snowman topper. One is a set of 101 Dalmations from my trip to Disney. And I have a growing collection of motorcycle themed ornaments. One day when we have a house instead of a small townhouse, I plan on setting up multiple small trees with the different themes.
