I don't know what to tell my DH

(I'm sure this has been asked before)

He asked me for a list for Christmas. I have no clue what to say.....

What did you guys ask for?

Re: I don't know what to tell my DH

  • My BF keeps asking me for a list too and I have nothing to give him. I dont know what I want. So today I went through the Sunday ads and found a few nice things I would like. Just to give him some ideas and hopefully he can come up with something from there.

But perfume, a new purse, a new coat, or spa day are always good options.

  • I had a hard time figuring out what I wanted this year too! We got married last year, moved into a new house this year and got so much stuff with all that and the holidays in between that I feel like I have everything I need right now. We took a quick trip to the mall and I went through the store thinking of things I wanted/needed. I have to always make a bigger list b/c my birthday is in early December.

I do puzzles, so those are always a staple gift. I also asked for things like ear muffs, a camera (which he's been wanting to get me for 2 yrs), perfume, Bath and Body works spa items, Christmas decorations, movies, games and gift cards

  • I asked for a new camera, pjs, a robe, bath and body stuff (I give him certain brands, ie Philosophy, Burt's Bees), a hot chocolate maker, scarves, a topiary tree, perfume. I also made a wish list online at Victoria's Secret with pjs/lingerie, but mostly clothes. He won't pick out clothes for me, but he likes when I give him a bunch of options and he picks a few things.
  • I asked for 1 thing because of the price tag...KitchenAid Stand Mixer.  I'm getting him a PS3 so the tables are even this year!

  • We're moving across the country in five months (DH got transferred for work), so I asked for physically small things since I won't know how to decorate our new house until we get there:

    A piping gun for baking

    Candles

    Cookbooks (I'm addicted to cookbooks!)

    Lightroom (photo editting software)

    Picture frames

    etc.

We just got married in August, so I feel like we got pretty much everything I wanted/needed.

  • Any time anyone asks for a list I just refer them to my amazon.com wish list. LOVE IT. This year I basically just asked for little things, some kindle accessories, a couple games, a few things I need around the house (like kitchen aide attachments, and pillows). Nothing crazy. And from my DH well I just keep telling him I want a dog.

  • We can't afford a lot, so I don't have much on my list.

Mostly books, a few movies. I need new socks, and a battery for my laptop. Usually I ask for kitchen gadgets that I want but won't buy for myself, like a new whisk or last year's mandoline slicer. :)

  • My DH did this to me too, I told him I'm not 5 anymore and he knows me well enough to figure out something I would like. Since then, he's shut up and has done a wonderful job with gifting. :-)

Going from a list sounds like grocery shopping to me - very impersonal. If he really is clueless, give him hints. For my birthday, I kept talking about how I needed socks and how the ones I really liked have holes in them. Bam, he got me socks (plus some other stuff he knew I needed and/or would like to have).
