Hey y'all! I hope everyone's doing well! DH and I just started reading a $10 book together called the Love Dare. Has anyone else looked at this? So far it is giving us a new challenge each day, including things like "say only positive things to your spouse" or "do something nice for them today". We're liking the book! I hadn't realized before how selfish I am!

Re: The Love Dare
Doesn't that go along with the movie that Kirk Cameron was in? (I forget what it was called). We watched the movie and thought the concept was a good one, but that the delivery (based on the movie) fell short.
We didn't actually try to do/follow the Love Dare, but we do have a copy of it--maybe we'll try it sooner than later!
It has a sticker on the book saying something about a movie, "Fireproof", but we didn't see that. I'm not familiar with it at all and not sure I'll even watch it.
One of my facebook friends wrote that she was watching it and I told her we were reading the Love Dare. She loves them both. I tend to be guarded when it comes to movies and "new" philosophies of life or relationships. This book incorporates Bible verses into each day's challanges very thoughtfully. I don't think of it as a self-help book. I think of it more as a marriage devotional. I'm enjoying it and it seems like our marriage is thirsty for what we're learning about ourselves and each other.
Maybe that's what a self-help book is!
I don't know. Check it out and let me know what you think!
We've got the book too. It was a wedding gift from DH's aunt. We haven't read the actual book, but our Life Group (aka Sunday school class) did the supplemental book. We liked it and the movie (fireproof) was good
) Our whole life group came over to our house one night and we all watched it together.
Have you read "The 5 Love Languages" ? That one is pretty awesome too
)
Its a good easy read. Our pastor recommended it to us during pre-marital counseling.
The same author has one for Kids too. . .now if only He'd write one for dogs, because I swear, there are days where I don't know what the heck Lucy wants Lol
