New WW program

Anyone know much about it?  Thoughts? I think I"m going to go to my meeting tonight to check it out.  I've been thinking about going back for awhile. I like new shiny stuff so I'm thinking it might motivate my butt.

Re: New WW program

  • I don't know anything about the new program, howver I have a friend who went yesterday and she says its absolutely wonderful!!  Let us know what you think!!!
  • It's like being back on day 1 with the new program. I have to recalculate everything, including all my recipes.  My meeting isn't until Thursday, but I have etools so I've been learning from the site. Their offering a kit (on sale for $34.95) and you get a nice canvas type organizer, a calculator, cookbook & a 3 month journal.  You don't get a slider tracker because there's too much info to put on it so you need the calculator. I did hear their coming out with the WW phone application for the Droid...you can scan the barcode of a product and it calculates the pointsplus value!

My thoughts on the program so far is that I have a renewed motivation. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that fruits & almost all veggies are Zero points. I'm just having a hard time adjusting to the (mostly) higher point values in foods.  I know I get more pts to eat, but to go from 1 pt for the WW fudge bars to 3 is a lot. And the arnold thin rolls have gone from 1 to 3! But I do see why the change.  300 calories can be different in 2 products - chicken breast vs. candy bar. So I get the concept.

I would definately check out your meeting tonight...good luck!

I forgot to quote you, but I totally agree.  there were many times when I said, "hmm, do I want a 2 point banana or a 2 point 100 calorie pack?  Yes, 100 calorie pack."  Even though I knew the banana was better the points were the same.  Anyway, I have to check out etools.  I have been tracking on pen and paper the old way.  But I need to change it up.

  • Man, I don't like this news!  A few months ago I ended my subscription to the etools since we were looking for places to save money, but I continued to do it on my own.  Now I don't know what to do!  I guess until I can figure out the new plan by word-of-mouth (or online somewhere other than WW) I'll just have to stick with the old plan.

That's awesome! I'm curious how you would scan it though.

    That is great news!

I used to do WW a long time ago, and keep thinking I'm gonna start counting points again. Maybe with the new program, it's really time for me to get back into it. It's hard to justify the money but at the same time, if I can follow through it would be worth it.
