Shopping Smarties!

Hey ladies! Soo I haven't been shopping at the mall in a while or surrounding areas but Im in search of a Galileo Thermometer for DH.

Does anyone in the Raleigh / Cary / Apex (this general area) know of an actual store that sells these? If I have to, I'll order one online, but I'm the kind of person that likes to go and see the item and hold it (weird, I know).

 Thanks ladies! :o)

Re: Shopping Smarties!

  • I have to admit that I had to google "Galileo Thermometer" to even know what that was.  Embarrassed  I really have no idea where you might be able to find one....are there any teachers supply stores in the area?  That might be a good place to call before heading out to see if they have it.  Or, is there a Discovery Channel store in any of the malls?  They might have it too.

    Good luck!

  • I've seen then before in stores, but I can't remember where. Maybe Accipiter in Cameron Village??
  • I've never heard of Accipiter before, I'll have to go check them out tomorrow and see.

As far as teacher stores go. . .the closest one that I know of is my previous place of employment and I try not to go there Lol. I also know that particular place doesn't stock items like that. I will def. google and see if theres a discovery store nearby, because Im sure they'd def have it!

    Thanks ladies! :o)

  • First, good luck finding one! Second, that's an awesome idea and I may have to steal it.  DH loves science and historical stuff like that.  One of the must-do's in Florence on our honeymoon was to go to the Galileo Museum, which was awesome, and had a ton of old scientific tools, including several telescopes actually built and used by Galileo, which thrilled him to no end.  This would be a great present!
